Palau Dalmases is located in the popular Montcada street in Barcelona, next to the Picasso Museum. Nowadays Palau Dalmases is home to the most intimate and special tablao flamenco ever seen in Barcelona, but it has a long history.
It is a stately palace of the seventeenth century as a result of the reform of a previous Gothic building. Some elements remained and can be seen today, like the 15th century chapel with a star vault, and angel reliefs surrounding an epiphany.
The façade follows the very simple Catalan Gothic line. The most interesting location is the Baroque courtyard and its staircase with Salomonic columns that support the rampant arches. The staircase has a frieze representing the rapture of Europe and Neptune’s chariot.
